Solutions - Overview

Application Types

FEMtools is used to perform many CAE tasks, especially to integrate FEA with test (CAT) or to extend and customize the functionality of standard tools (pre/post processors, solvers).

Common uses for FEMtools can be found in following areas:

The powerful FEMtools Script language allows for automation, customization and development of additional tools. By developing new scripts, the possible uses for FEMtools for each of the application types are virtually unlimited. Using the FEMtools Scripting language, DDS, customers and partners continuously develop new scripts to extend the range of applications.

If you want to discuss new developments or need assistance with implementing your own, contact DDS or our FEMtools Solutions Partners.

Solutions for Academic Research and Education

FEMtools is increasingly used for academic research and in education. The powerful FEMtools Script language is ideal for rapid development and prototyping of algorithms and methods. It is often used in combination with Matlab. With the integrated data translators, graphics viewers, sparse solvers, matrix operator and a function library that provides easy access to model properties, element matrices and gradients, developing new tools often requires scripts of less than 100 lines to produce industrial quality results.
